About Olavo

Olavo de Carvalho is an influential Brazilian philosopher and journalist with a wide following in his native country. In addition to teaching an online Philosophy Seminar for Brazilians, he is the author of a dozen books on philosophy, politics, and cultural matters. He is also an international correspondent and weekly columnist for the Brazilian newspaper, Diário do Comércio, and he hosts a popular weekly show on BlogTalk Radio called True Outspeak.

Now living in the United States, Professor de Carvalho has become an increasingly popular public speaker in this country, delivering lectures at the Hudson Institute, the Atlas Foundation, and the America’s Future Foundation, and has also been honored by critics as one of the most original and daring Brazilian thinkers. He is also the founder and president of the Inter-American Institute for Philosophy, Government, and Social Thought which is a non-profit research and educational organization that gathers distinguished expert analysts, scholars, and leaders of note in politics, media, education, and religion, etc.
